So, firstly, I was the prototypical AFC, going from one unrequited love to another for a long time. Decided "fuck that" a couple years ago and mostly just didn't try with girls at all and did my own thing. Well, that got lonely and sexually frustrating and about 6 months ago I found this place after reading a little bit about PUA else where on the internet. (I'm really into poker and love behavioral psychology and that kind of thing and I discovered PUA through that)

Well, I won't bore you with the details of my first awkward #close (this is 6 months or so ago, so the details would be shaky at best, and it isn't really too important I don't think), but it was an HB9 that gave me a lot of confidence going forward. Problem is, she flaked on me. Tried texting/calling every other or every third day or so for about 2 weeks and gave up. Only short noncommitable responses, if any at all. Eventually I deleted her number.

Which brings me to last night. I'm a bouncer at a bar (that's where I met this girl the first time) that closes at 1 am. There's a bar about 2 blocks away that's open until 4 and usually the staff from my bar, along with most of our customers, end up at the other place once we close. That's where I saw this girl again. Now, I've seen her a few times, both in my bar and at this one, but since she flaked on me I just moved on and sort of ignored her without being rude. We'd say "hi" or whatever, and once she playfully punched me on the arm when I was talking to another girl, but we haven't had any real interaction since the night I #closed her.

I went to the late bar after work looking to flirt and possibly close some girls since I just got out of a casual thing I had going with someone. I knew probably 30% of the clientele and was bouncing around group to group chatting with people. At one point I went out to smoke with some of the guys from work and a couple of their friends. She was out there being swarmed by a group of after-bar-drunk douches and gave me the "save me" face. After a minute or two of letting her deal with it, I came over and gave her a hug and sort of pulled her away from the group, asked how she was, etc. Teased her about not coming to see me more often and generally started flirting. At one point one of the guys I was with tried to AMOG me by standing half in between us and making some comment about her going home with him. Her response was "Well I tried to go home with this guy (me) once, but he wasn't having it!" This actually threw me off for a minute and I didn't have a great response.. I just sorta nervously said that was bullshit, and that I tried to set something up, etc. Very beta. But after a minute or so I regained my composure and was teasing her about being a flake and told her (didn't ask) to come back in with me since we were done smoking. I let her walk in first and get a few steps ahead of me (so that she's looking back to make sure I'm behind her) and after she finds a place to sit I walk right past her and say "I'll be right back". She replies, "Seriously??" and I give her a grin and a shrug as I walk by. I go up to one of the groups I knew and said hi and hugged a girl I know who had either just arrived or who I had missed earlier. After a minute or two over there I came back to where she was sitting and sat in a chair. It was soaking wet because someone had spilled their drink. She starts laughing and I maintain my frame and make a joke about how she did that on purpose so she could have an excuse to get me out of my pants. Well, we chat a little bit more (I told her how I deleted her number and that she'd have to earn her place back in my phone), she introduces me to her friend (HB2 or 3) who is a regular at my bar and the three of us continue talking for a bit. Eventually I say I am going to go get a drink and ask if either of them want one. HB9 says to get her a beer and I leave to get it. I get back and HB9 is gone, talking to some guy 10 or 15 feet away. I give her drink to her friend and start to talk to her without looking to see if HB9 is still around. She comes back for the drink and we flirt some more. I give her shit about walking away when I bought her a beer (lighthearted, made sure not to look like I actually cared. I have a lot of friends here and HB3 is just as deserving of my time and this beer as she is) and we get back to flirting before the guy she left to talk to comes back. He offers her a ride home, promising not to try anything (promising me? It was somewhat directed at me, but I actually didn't care). She takes it, and after she goes around saying her goodbyes and everything they are on their way to the door and I step in front of her saying "Give me your number again." She blushes and smiles and softly says "okay." I pull out my phone and right as she starts to say her number I interrupt with a grin and say "Wait.. are you actually going to reply or is this a waste of time? I only have so much space in here..." She smiles and says, "I promise we'll go out. I'm sorry for last time.." hugs me and leaves with dude.

So, a #close from a known flake. How do I go from here? I'm 100% sure she will not make it easy to set up a date. On the plus side though, I don't think she's looking for anything more than a casual hookup, so I think if I can get together with her I can probably f-close with relative ease. I do think I probably lacked sufficient phone/text game at our first meeting, and I've had quite a bit more experience so I feel more confident in that area, but I have never really been able to work with flakes. I know there's a lot of previous posts about flakes, but given this specific situation, are there any tips/tricks to prevent it before it starts? Anything I can do to turn a flake into a hook up?

TL;DR: Re-#close a girl who flaked on me 6 months ago. How do I proceed?
