Some info: 21 yo and been reading Seddit for a couple of months. I haven't number closed or anything closed for the matter any girl since I started wanting to improve but i have opened many more sets than before and have grown more self confident due to working on many aspects of my life. With that out of the way:

I was at work today when a stunning hb 8.5 came in (I work in a sandwich shop). I noticed that she had some sort of accent so as I rang her up I asked:

Me: is that an accent I hear?

Her: yeah! I'm from Peru

Me: no way. You look more like somebody from Europe. (She was very fair skinned)

Her: no haha I'm Peruvian and I speak Spanish and everything.

Me: really? It just so happens that I speak Spanish myself. (I'm a white looking Mexican)

The rest of the conversation we had in Spanish:

Her: do you really speak Spanish?

Me: I do. But I look like a white guy don't I?

Her: I think I beat you in the White looking area.

Me: yeah... I think you have me beat there. You really surprised me when you said you were Peruvian.

The rest of the conversation is me asking about what part of Peru she was from and what made Peru so beautiful (she it was beforehand). When it got to culture and specifically music I asked her if Peruvian flute bands where a good representation of music in Peru. She there were lots and I asked which was her favorite. She said afroperuvian and I playfully asked if she could show me a dance move. As I asked this I did a pretty uninspired but goofy ballet move which she laughed at and then said she couldn't because there was no music. I said that's too bad and then there was a pause in the conversation. This is when I realized that I was truly attracted to this girl. Foolishly, instead of owning the silence like some have suggested here I essentially told her to have a nice day.

I'll admit it; I panicked. I ejected because I thought I would mess it up if I continued. As it turns out, I was so wrapped up in our conversation that I forgot to charge her and she told me that she hadn't paid yet. I apologized, rang her up and attempted to restart the convo to avoid awkwardness when my coworker said something and I turned to listen. When I turned back she said thank you and wished me a good rest of the day with a warm smile. I told her the same thing and wished her well on the trip to Peru she was taking soon and that was that. I tried to catch her gaze as she walked by our Window outside but no luck. All in all I felt the interaction went well and 5 minutes later it hit me like a brick that I probably could have gotten her number if I would have remembered to ask. This has been a major sticking point from this and previous experiences:

I get so wrapped up in the interaction and just enjoying it that asking for a girls number doesn't even cross my mind. I realize now that at least attempting a number close should be in my concious mind when interacting with women I like.

Some other thoughts: what was working for me was the connection I seemed to establish with her early on by playing the "I speak Spanish and am fair skinned too" card. Establishing common ground isn't something that comes easy to me and it feels like I got lucky this time. This has highlited for me why comfort building really is a big part of an interaction.

I truly regretted not asking for her number and honestly I felt like crap for a few minutes afterwards as a dreamed of what could have been. However, seddit has taught me that dwelling on mistakes is counterproductive and my failure instead turned into eagerness. Eagerness to meet another girl I felt I really connected with but this time at least attempting a number close. Thanks for this mindset seddit.

Lastly, I think I need to become more aware of myself when in a set. I tend to notice that I lose track of things and become distracted when trying to hit on someone. I can't multitask game and work at the same time and I feel it's mostly due to not feeling completely confident with the situation or spending too much time in my head.

I realize this seems like a trivial interaction but I was able to take away so much from it. I find that the best FRs are the ones that truly break stuff down and try squeeze the most from an experience. This is my attempt at doing so. THanks for the read and any thoughts are welcome!
