I've been reading seddit for a while, working on my inner game. I decided to learn how to dance, to help with my social skills and with attracting girls. All girls like a guy who can dance, right?

At first I just wanted to get good enough to be able to dance in the club with decent rhythm, but the more I went to salsa and west coast dances, the more I wanted to be like the top guys there.

I've been working hard and taking lessons the last 4 months, and it finally happened last night.

There was this cute little redhead taking the beginner lesson, the hour before the dance started. I noticed her at first, but didn't really pay her any attention. "Oh great, another girl who is too green to follow properly".

I danced with the people I knew at first, getting in the groove and getting myself settled so that nothing could shake my lead. After a couple of "Oh god, you are SO fun to dance with" you feel like you could conquer the world.

After the dance was half over, I walked over to her and flashed a smile and said "I haven't danced with you yet."

She had awful timing, it was a train wreck. But you'd never know it, because from the moment we started dancing, her eyes lit up. And the more they lit up, the more I threw random, made up moves, since we weren't really dancing to the music much.

As soon as I saw it, I started to shake. "Holy crap, I think she likes me." It got so bad I had to grab one of my friends' hands and dance a song with her just to calm down.

When the last song came on, she said to play "shake it off". Shake it off is WAY too fast for west coast, 159 BPM when west coast gets undancable at 135+. It didn't matter, we were the only two to shoot up and make a complete scene at the end of the night.

My Approach anxiety was as high as it has ever been, but walking with her and her friends back to their car, we all said goodbye, and then I said to her "Wait.."

Kelsey, before you go, can I have your number? Stared her straight in the eye, poker face, and waited. Everyone had the same shocked look.

She literally replied with haba aaahhh buhhhh while blinking, she almost looked, astonished?

She caught it quickly, and said yes with a smile. The best/worst part of it was, my hands were shaking so bad it took me 3 tries to open the app on my phone to get her number. She even volunteered her last name, which I wasn't expecting.

Going forward, is there anything I can do to prepare myself, to where I have nerves of steel, and don't tremble, even in front of what most people would call an HB9? I couldn't stop myself. I was confident and I had balls.. but, do girls pick up on tells like that, trembling? How bad of a giveaway is it?

TL;DR: I did what seddit said, be confident. I didn't care whether she said yes or no. I no longer want a girl who doesn't see me for who I am: awesome. It works. THANK YOU SEDDIT!
