So I've been on Seddit for maybe the better part of the year. Got into my first relationship last year (20M btw) and was totally whipped and ultra AFC. Got "heartbroken" (I really shouldn't have been lol) and invested more into this. Ended up making a new friend and developing pretty bad oneitis (we did hookup a couple times). Getting over it now, but that's another story. So now my first field report!

Friday: Went out with some friends last friday night. I'm relatively new to this city and just joined this social circle. We meet up with some mutual friends, one if which has become my target (HB8).

We get downtown and meet up with the girls. The club we originally planned on going to was dead. Me and the HB8 really wanted to go to the club we usually go to, so me and her just started walking. We arrive and get inside to start drinking and dancing.

So all my friends, me and the HB8 are in a group dancing. I grab HB8's hands to pull her into start dancing. We dance, take some shots, dance, shots, etc. Her friend though, isn't taking too kindly to me repeatedly taking HB8 away. My bros keep her occupied thankfully.

Personally, I love grinding as much as the next guy, but I dance cause it's fun. So I started switching it up a bit and spinning her, just having fun. Soon HB8 and I are starting to segregate ourselves from the group.

After a bit we start dancing slower and of course the thought of kissing her is all over my mind. She orientates herself to have her face in my chest and what happens? Totally don't go for it. Yah, I know. I've kicked myself about it a lot this week.

Anyways, we keep dancing and I go outside with the HB8's friend to smoke a couple bowls. We get back in and everyone is sitting down. HB8 has had far too much to drink so her friend starts to take her home. I followed them out (shortly after) and see if they're alright. Grabbed HB8's number and get back inside. Left shortly after.

Saturday: I sent HB8 (I'm just going to give her a name now.. Megan? Sure) a text in the afternoon. My text game has never been good. I'm pretty needy when it comes to that haha.

Me: So this cute socially awkward girl gave me her number last night. Should I text her?

Her: Hm that's a tough one. Probably not, she sounds awfully dull

Me: Might be... She seemed alright to me though. Think I'll give her a chance. How was your post ZOMGCLUBBINGIMMAGETWASTED? :P Her: Oh such a mistake but there's no going back now. It was surprisingly fine..

<insert a couple banter texts>

The next time I text her was the following night (so second night after having met).

Me: Hey bebe! How rad was your day? You should come chill with me at <bar> on wednesday! Her: Hey! It was aight, had a pretty chill day then went to work and now I'm going to a movie! Yeah that'd be fun, we should get everyone out, I've never been there before!

This threw me a curveball. So I didn't say anything until the next morning:

Me: Mornin' miss! Never been to the <bar> either. <reason for bar being bad place to go>. I'll see if I can't get something else going. Which movie did you see? Her: Hahaha oh well I guess that makes since. Yeah let me know, I'm down for whatever!

Wednesday I arranged for our group to go to Go Karts. I sent Megan a text saying: "You! Go karting. 7."

She replied saying she just got strep throat (confirmed by my friends). Bummer. Unfortunately I can't arrange anything else with her being sick and I'm going on Vacation until next Wednesday. Feeling like this might be a first step (first date as a result of what I've learned here at least).

TL;DR Recovering AFC. Met a HB8 at a club, coulda shoulda kissed but at least #-closed. Been texting over the past few days and has flaked once (result of being sick). Thanks Seddit! It's a success in my books, even if it goes nowhere. Of course I'd like it to, any help with that? What to do next?

EDIT: Actually, specifically how can I sexualize texting while I'm away? Or at least keep the attraction there.
