Last night I went to town with some mates and the first (after dinner) place we were at had an outside area which I took the group (5) to so then we could chill and have a chat instead of be inside. It also served the purpose of scouting out the people there, which is when I saw this one girl HB8.5 in a set of 10 who I wanted to approach. I wasn't sure how to approach a set of 10 girls so I didn't instead went up to the bar to order a drink. The target came up to get a drink as well. I was just having fun at that time dancing and singing to ABBA music that was playing when I looked over and caught her looking and me so I smiled and she flashed a big smiled back at me (I took this as IOI - just helped my confidence). As she came up to the bar and stood next to me ABBA stopped playing so I was disappointed and said to her, 'its not the same as ABBA is it'. We shot the shit a bit and then she made a bet on who would get served first and the other buy the drinks. Unfortunately I lost the bet so I bought first round, during this first meeting there was just some playful kino (also took as IOI). Anyway, I went back to my group but they went back inside because they didn't like the music, I decided to stay outside so I went and opened another set (awkwardly but worked out in the end as it helped me build momentum). As I went up to the bar to get another drink she was already there so we caught up and introduced ourselves while the drinks were being made. She said how jealous she was that men got to wear comfy shoes and she didn't, so then I brought up wearing makeup (for a show) as being uncomfortable and I could sympathise with her. As we parted again I was unsure how to work myself into her set (which had now become 5). The last time I went up to the bar she called me over and said, 'I think I owe you one' and so bought me a drink, after that I followed her to their table and got introduced. I sat on the opposite side of her which in hindsight I shouldn't have done (should have been next to her to escalate kino (not that I really know how yet). Anyway more conversation, I got her snapchat name through conversation and then got ready to bounce with my mates. They told me to go back for the number, which I did just saying 'next time your down let me know' (she is from the country) and gave her my phone to put the number in. Once I got that I did leave and go to a club my mates were going to and just dealt with the music and tried to slow myself down for work in the morning.

Overall I'm really really happy with how it all went, I have been lurking for a while doing some reading but this experience helped me realise that I can do stuff. Obviously I've got a tonne of work and in particular need to work on escalating more, particularly with regard to kino. This is the first step.

This morning I sent a text saying 'hey, its Klinger_ hope you had a good night, if your not heading back today come have coffee at 5pm at X.' She was heading back home though so nothing could come of it.
