So at the ripe old age of 24 I went on my first date. I asked a friends sister to hang out on facebook. Said she looked cute and I was interested.

After some back and forth texting we go out for a short walk tonight. I think keep it short, little walk, get to know eachother, no big hour long commitment, just 15-20 mins.

So I go meet her and shes actually much hotter than her pics. We go for a walk and the conversation is flowing. But 2 things I dont like.

Firstly, shes 5'7 and I'm about 5'9. She wont shut up about how short I am. In the 15-20 minute walk she brought it up about 4-5 times.

Secondly, she said I sounded really posh, which I guess I do since I'm from Oxford, but again, this was brought up 4-5 times.

There was also one point towards the end of our walk where the conversation kinda died down, and she was very quick to point out it was awkward. This annoyed me because really, it was a 3-4 second break in the conversation and I felt absolutely fine with it, I felt pointing it out made the whole thing more than it needed to be.

Overall I'm happy I did it, but my ego got a little crushed with how short I feel now, and how posh I might sound, but overall thats me, it's who I am, it cant be changed and its what makes me who I am.

Funnily enough, dates aren't that hard. I was always really worried about them, and I was a little bit of a nervous wreck going to meet her, but as far as first dates ever go, I'm happy.
