So I have been lurking on here for a while now but just got out of a relationship so haven't really put it to use a lot yet. I'm trying to get out of my shell and be more extroverted. I have been doing a good job of talking to random people and introducing myself just to be more comfortable and not have so much AA when I do see an approachable woman. This is my first FR to seddit so please tell me how I can better relay the message if it is not adequate.

Setting: 8PM local time. Just got out of the gym so I'm starving. Local bar/Restaurant. Has good food specials on Mondays. Downtown. Crowded that day. Report: Order a beer, water and food. The staff is always top notch there. Very attractive women (average HB7). I'm looking around and just surveying the situation to find a spot to sit. No spot can be found even at the bar. I ask the hostess if there are any people at the bar waiting for tables and how soon it would be to get a spot. Had a brief conversation with her but she was way too busy to try to open or do anything with her. I finally get some open chairs at the bar and take one with an empty on either side of me. The bartender is a guy but he is really cool and I see him there all the time. I order a beer, water, and my food.

As my food comes and I start to eat I notice a girl looking in the window as she is walking by. I thought she looked hot. Sure as shit she comes and sits in one of the chairs next to me. I thought to myself, this is my chance. She asks the bartender for a check! She works there!! I have never seen her there before though. I quickly go over an opener that wont seem too awkward. I say, "do you work here at this location?" she answers yes and I just go into how I haven't seen her here. Small talk. Then I find out she is switching to a new location that is opening up about 30 mins away (also like to point out that I have taken the advice of others on here to take up a little more room to show alpha status). After a little bit of that the conversation goes into how much she spends at the place on her off days and it sucks because she is on a budget (also like to point out that I only turned my head towards her in conversation and not my whole body, which she did at one point and kept it that way). Come to find out she is in college for Biomedical engineering. I start to talk to her about that because of my medical background. We start talking more about that (took the hint about getting her out of work mode, even though she technically wasn't working). Opened up a lot of other small talks with some silence in between because she got texts and I would eat a little (again I am really starving because Muay Thai is extreme cardio so I didn't mind her checking messages so I could scarf down some food). I initiated some kino as well. I asked her if she wanted to see something cool. She said yes. I TOLD her, not asked her, to give me her hand. She was a little hesitant at first but I just assured her it was not anything bad. I was wearing one of my favorite shirts that day. It is a Cincinnati Reds shirts that is made by a custom designer. It changes color when its warm. I put her hand on my shoulder and about 10 seconds later I took it off with mine and she was pretty impressed because she didn't know what was coming. That was a great way to pick up the conversation and gain more interest. I also made a joke about how now I have her fingerprints on my shirt and would steal her identity later. Made some headway and she was laughing a lot. Time came where her food she ordered to go was here and she was almost done with her beer. I abruptly said, you should give me your number so we can go out sometime and continue the conversation. This is where it went south. She kindly stated she was seeing someone and couldn't at the time.

All that effort and couldn't get a #close. I thought I gave DHV with my career choices and other small talk. Initiated kino that was well received. Had some things in common to bridge the gap. I also had pretty good posture (I was concentrated on this the whole time). What I have taken away from this is that rejection can happen no matter if everything goes right and sometimes you just have to keep it at a numbers game. Get back on that horse. I don't even really see it as a loss because I had someone to talk to the whole time I ate and practiced. Like everyone else should be doing as well.

I find myself going out a lot by myself lately and I always end up talking to someone interesting and having great conversations. Being more comfortable. Hopefully someone else can learn from this and I can get some feedback. Always looking to improve and be more confident in my game.
