hey guys, so I've noticed this pattern recently and I'd like to get some advice about it.

Skip to this is where it comes in if you just want to read about what happens after I approach.

Yesterday I was sitting by a girl in my uni library and we started casually chatting. She seemed nice and very receptive, and we both felt comfortable.

Keep in mind this is "natural beauty" type girl, like a 9 or an high 8 with a pretty chill personality. We had a little chat and as she was packing up, I left to get a call..I was talking outside and she left through the door and waved bye to me and smiled..so I decided hey why not. I walked towards her while she was walking diagonally(towards class). I am walking horizontal to her. and told her something about what was happening on the phone and she seemed receptive. (I was running out of time as this point because she had to leave to one of her classes and there was too much distance(like 10 ft) so I just said, "Hey you're cute, what's your number? She said she had a bf so I just like cool. I think this was a bad call because these type of girls don't like being told they're cute. what I really liked was her style but I forgot to say it.

and I went for a handshake and we exchanged names. I told her I liked her style and she said she liked mine too and she smiled and then I told her good luck and bye. I should have got her number anyway.

I almost have no AA because I'm very social but I could have done better. After the approach I have to say I was like, "it would have been awesome to hang out with her but oh well"..I thought to myself, "That wasn't bad at all, I don't feel sad or anything, it's not a huge deal to get rejected at all and I don't feel different and wasn't less happy"

Then I started thinking if she really had a bf or if my approach sucked(it did, the whole convo was great but I failed with closing because there was no optimal way to do it)..or if she didn't find me attractive but I said it didn't matter and I was outcome independent. I was happy I at least approached her. at the same time I was still feeling that there was something with me(looks, etc that was the fault)

I stopped all that and met up with some friends.

This is where it comes in A few hours later I was still hanging out with my friends and I zoned out...started feeling really disconnected and lonely...I wanted to be emotionally close with someone. I felt "far away from my friends". I started wondering if she really had a bf or if I was just unattractive(I tried to stop these thoughts immediately because I know where it would lead, I said I'm awesome).

Those defeating thoughts stopped but the loneliness isn't an active thought...it was still there and I still feel lonely. My thought is the rejection doesn't hurt me at all..but it brings out some of my inferiorities/negative ideas I have inside....or just randomly makes me feel lonely.

Every time I approach and it fails, I go, "wow that was nothing, I should do this more often." but HOURS later I'll just start randomly getting lonely and feeling really weird or sad for no specific reason.

tl;dr I approached a girl, got rejected, was completely unphased. Hours later I started randomly feeling very lonely. This happens every time I approach right down to the hours later part. Every time I approach a girl hours later I start to feel a bit lonely.
