**NOTE: Before I begin, I will preface this with the fact that firstly this is quite a long post so if you don't want to read everything, skip to the bottom for a tl;dr summary.
Secondly this happened a few days ago and is not quite fresh, but that's only because I have had surgery recently and in a period of rehabilitation. Hence why it was my last shift before sick leave. I will bold everything that I felt was key to my (personal) success.
Third, I've come off some heavy oneitis - still having bouts of it - but this really helped me and gave a spring in my step to believe that I do have some game.
Lastly, this is a new account to hide my actual identity, since it is relatively easy for people that do know me to put the pieces together. I may use this solely for the purpose of Seddit, but we shall see.
Enjoy**
So Sunday last week (14 June) was my last shift before knee surgery. I picked it up after a colleague of mine begged me to take it on for her. I reluctantly agreed because it would give me some extra money for payday, and she had no one else to turn to.
What I didn't think would come of it was what I will detail below.
To give some context: I'm a 20-year-old student who has just passed his first year of university. I have suffered from depression for the last six or so years, as well as social anxiety. I am very introverted and have been building my confidence and inner game for a while by; taking on new hobbies, seeing a therapist, conversing with friends online via Facebook and all the rest of it.
My mindset going into today wasn't to pick up anyone. It was generally to have fun. Relax. Just roll with it. Go and do a shift, come back, and that be that. Simple.
That changed as the night progressed. I became social with effectively everyone, not just women, but when the women did come up (HB6s mostly, one HB7.5) I figured I would practice some light-hearted banter and some flirting. By doing this I built up confidence and, more importantly, social proof. This became more important later in the night, as it helped me approach the girl(s) that I will talk about later. Towards the end of the night, I had been bought about three drinks by customers and waved goodbye at by three.
Anyway, to the crux of it: I work with someone who I'll give the pseudonym of Steve. Steve noticed this HB7.5 who worked in a local bar across the street from us walk in, and was surprised by her arrival. She walked in with this HB7, who also walked in with her. They were pretty hot and just bought a drink to relax.
Now, they were there for about an hour, and I spent around half of that procrastinating. Approach anxiety kicked in and I was struggling with a gameplan. Not that I really needed one, as Seddit teached you, but nevertheless. I asked him what I should go with to open HB7.5, but he refused to give me anything of use because he liked her too. Friendly competition.
I noticed that they were about to leave since they were finishing their drinks and we had stopped serving. I decided "fuck it" and went up to them. Remembering as much as I could about what I had read on here, I just opened up HB7.5 - the one I was originally interested in - and asked her about how she knew Steve.
The beginning was a little slow, as she struggled to understand what I saw saying, but I kept eye contact, smiled a little and kept it light. No interviewer mode. Some way through I got onto how they were at the local bar not too far from us. I used a little storytelling as some customer from earlier today was an asshole, so as to get things going a little.
I could tell things were platonic but not really going anywhere. It was when her friend, HB7, started opening up, that things got more interesting. I knew where HB7.5 was from, and moved it onto HB7. She's Italian. Somewhere in there she made a Family Guy reference which I caught onto, and did some more kino with a high-five. Again, more contact establishment, picked up from Seddit.
When I asked HB7.5 about her tattoos, HB7 jumped in. I used this opportunity to kino.
HB7: "I have a lot of tattoos"
Me: "Where?"
HB7: points to tattoos "Here, here and here. I even have a piercing on my neck."
Bingo.
Me: "Let me see."
She moved towards me and let me feel the piercings, as I used the touching to establish an initial comfort level. I went with it full length, and made it more sexual (e.g. "What are those, balls?" "Do you just go up to people on the street and let them touch your balls?!")
They loved it. She was getting really comfortable. Her friend, HB7.5, was enjoying it too. The social proof I got from earlier kicked in when a regular said his goodbyes to me. First time I had ever seen him stay all the way until close. Helped me out.
I took the piercings thing to the next level and nicknamed her Balls for the rest of the night. She loved it. All the while my colleague, Steve, was waiting on the other side of the bar and just observing from afar. Considering how I was panicking 20 minutes ago, I was sure that he was just as surprised as I was that this wasn't a complete train wreck.
He hopped in because apparently earlier HB7 said HB7.5 wanted him to get her number. So he acted. I clocked and got my phone from behind the bar. Another colleague of mine (let's call him Morris) was closing up. I asked for HB7's number, but she didn't have her phone on her for some reason. She was scrambling for it but because they were being asked to leave, she panicked. Instead, she gave me her Facebook. Thinking about it, I should have hugged her before she left but she was happy enough to input her name directly into my Facebook for me to add her.
As they left, Steve and I looked at each other in awe. That kind of amazement you get from when something awesome happens. I said to him earlier "I'm gonna do it. I'm gonna talk up those girls" but chickened out. Then I went for it, and bang. Last-second stuff. We closed them.
I FB-closed, no #-close, but I was happy enough. That was the first time ever in my job that I had closed a girl. At all. I was over the moon.
I sent her a message the following day on FB but it didn't go through. No sure what to do now, but even if nothing comes of it, I'm just so proud of myself. Of course the surgery is inopportune timing, but it was a great way to close off my last shift since I won't be back at work for at least three months.
Steve browses Reddit, not sure if it's /r/seduction too, but still would rather he not know.
Nevertheless I felt so boss. He did say "it's like you've never asked out a girl before", and I have. But not post-Seddit. So it was a big step forward for me.
I continued the momentum with just general going out in the days following it, no closes or anything, just confidence boosting. It was fantastic.
This is my first FR, so understandably it will have its criticism, but hopefully it meets the criteria.
TL;DR: Opened a two-set of HB7s on final shift, used Seddit techniques and FB-closed one. My first-ever.
