Hello everyone! I have been reading pickup material off and on for the past 5 years.I am 22 years old now. I literally have not acted on it besides a few cold approaches that went no where. I am terribly AFC. I'm here to tell you though, it is 100% possible for anyone take the material seddit provides and improve your life. I am a decent looking guy, but i have low self esteem from being very overweight. For me this all started NYE. I went to a club with 2 friends (1 guy 1 girl). I was never in a club before so i was excited to go. I let everything go after a few drinks and just danced with my female friend the whole night. Things do not change quick so i talked with a few other women and danced briefly with another. still the same old me not making anything happen. I had a lot of fun though, so i knew when i want to get into "state" i will think back to myself on this night. Not giving a fuck having fun with my friends on NYE.

Fast foward 2 weeks. I decide to start going out as much as possible starting on the wednesday just going to any bar around town. On the second night Literaly everyone of my friends came out to the bar and it was a great time i had a chat with everyone and just got me inspired about life. I am a huge gamer but i realise that i spend to much time doing that.

So im filling up my free time with as many new activities as i can. Learning tabs on my bass. Picking up some spanish on duolingo.com , improving my math skills with khanacademy. Looking at taking some dance classes (since i had so much fun on NYE) Anything i can do to improve myself im going for it. If i fail? fuck it at least i tried. I know it is tough believe me i sat on my ass for the last 5 years doing absolute shit. Once you are out there doing things, you will realise its no big deal.

That friday i go to a bar with my female friend and 3 of her friends. I throw myself into the NYE state from the begining thinking to myself, "Have fun with your friends talk to everyone and get them smiling" Im a big mother fucker so if im grinning your going to be grinning to haha. So yea we are getting drinks and what not and normally i would just stay quiet until people ask me questions. Not tonight. We were waiting on a few more people so i tell the girls, " they are just waiting on our text saying this place sucks, screw that the punctual people are going to have the best time." So i buy a round a shots. We are all bullshitting now about being on time and how it makes life so much better and easier for everyone. People are rude when they are alway late etc. When more girls that we know show up (some with their boyfriends) Whatever came up in my head i talked to them about just to show i was engaged and wanted to socialise. Soon as one of the girls started dancing thats it i got down with her and another girl joined us and we danced for 30 minutes having a good time.

My good female friend out of this group told me all the girls were impressed with me and saw a side they never got to see of me. I KNOW im making progress now all of this is just feeding my confidence level.

Now last night 1/17 i invited 3 guy friends out to go to a bar just to get some good beer and start my going out week. I go up to the bar first thing and as im fumbling with my cash this SUPER cute chick buys my drink.... i hate to admit this but all i did was Thank her.(Honestly i was shocked) I did not approach i went away for about 15 minutes and i could not find her again so a golden oppurtunity lost on my part. It did boost my confidence to know that some girls are noticing me though. I would love help on how to stop thinking so much when im interacting with girls i think thats the last big hurdle for me for now. Its really is like im scared of them haha.

TLDR ; I am a fat dude with absolutely no experience talking with girls. Just straight up throwing myself out there is automatically making me feel more confident and better able to handle my life. Stop doubting yourself remember everyone is insecure, we are all just humans trying to find our ways through this shit. Enjoy yourself while you can and good things will come.

I know this post is a huge ramble, but if i can help just one person realise anyone can get out there and have fun ill be happy. I know i have lots to learn, but i am excited to fail (and you should be to!) It is a part of life! Its better to fail and learn than to never try and always wonder.
