This is a read, fair warning

I plan on documenting my improvement an help share what I know. I was in a FWB situation at my last city with a few girls and got sloppy/lazy.

Regardless that I'm a bit out of shape (r/fitness) and need to upgrade my style (r/malefashionadvice) now that I live in a more pretentious city I'm still having early success.

Went out to a pubish style sports bar. Step 1 start talking to the bartender like you've know him/her your entire life. Women around you notice this and will be comfortable when you make eye-contact/smile/introduce yourself.

I introduce myself to a 2 set that look straight out of a rap video and realize I cannot continue the conversation so I exit to the patio.

Place is crazy packed but one large table opens up and I set my beer down and watch a little top 10 ESPN. A couple comes out to smoke and stands next to me, grab my lighter as they can't find theirs. Start small talk and realize the guy is gay but the girl he's with is a 5 at best. Regardless, this again makes it easy to open conversation with HB7 who comes up asking if we are using the entire table. I respond that no her and her cute friends should come join us (me).

She gathers her 3 friends HB8 HB8.5 and HB9 from inside and 2 AFCs come out following them like puppies. One is trying way to hard with HB9 who has a BF while the other wings HB8.5 who also has one. WTF? While HB8 goes to the bathroom I number close HB7 after some banter/light kino. I just passed my phone over on the number screen, she adds first and last name as well. At this point it's about 12:30 and I want to get out before AFCs ruin the vibe.

Too late, HB9 has a friend come join posing as her BF to get them to leave. This ends up being great for me as her friend is chill as hell and I end up drinking 3 beers that he bought. HB7 keeps handing them to me.

More chit chat, talk with HB8 who is her roommate and a sexy as hell math teacher. I get up to go to the bathroom and when I return they have left. I text HB7 and say I lost her and was fantastic to meet her. She responds that she had friend drama. I reply back saying we should do some day drinking tomorrow (today). She replies back sounds good. Unfortunately nothing today from her.

Regardless, I want to point out I'm an average looking guy at best and still have an easy time engaging people even when I'm by myself. Don't make excuses, get out there and do it.

My next task is finding how I can create more attraction quickly so I have more success with number closes. At this point I've gotten 6 numbers in this city (3 days) and none seem like they will end up turning into anything. Anyone else have this problem?
