I walked into the campus library smiling and found a HB8 sitting in one of 8 comfy chairs. I walked straight up to her and said, "Hey, I'm going to sit next to you" to which she replied smiling, "Okay." I sat down and asked how her semester was going and started some small talk about the textbook she had out. She said she's studying nutrition and I started to neg her saying things like, "You've never had a Big Mac?! You're so weird." But seriously, this girl stated she hasn't eaten fast food since she could remember. She then starting asking questions about me. IOI.

I asked her about her hobbies and etc constantly using push/pull. I kept telling her she must have a psychological problem because I kept rewording what she was saying to contradict herself. i.e. "I just hate people. I try to cut all the shallow friends out of my life." And I changed that to "I can't believe you hate people. I think there is seriously something wrong with you." I went into talking about how sarcastic she is all the time. Halfway through the conversation, she started preening herself by touching her hair. IOI.

Side note: Over the past few weeks, I've been talking to literally anyone and everyone trying out different techniques. One thing I noticed I do alot is that I downplay myself. If someone asks what I'm studying, I tell them business then go on to say that it's really not great. I've learned to change that nasty habit and state a few positives after saying something.

Anyway, I digress. Throughout the conversation, 3 people I knew stopped by and said hi to me, one in the beginning of the conversation (HB7), one near the middle (a close friend, HB7), and a guy I knew from my work. Overall, it was GREAT social proof. After the guy said hi to me and left, the girl, obviously impressed, jokingly asked if I paid them to come up and say hi to me.

Sorry to disappoint but I didn't go for the # close. It's something that I still need to work on but overall I feel pretty good about this encounter.
