Hey folks,

Posted part of this story in another thread and figured I'd expand it out to a full FR. This happened 2 nights ago.

Was out at a pretty solid bar downtown with 2 good buddies of mine. Alcohol level was pretty high, the 3 of us are single and so we were looking for some fun. One of my friend's runs into a friend (girl 1) who's there with a friend of hers (girl 2). Girl 1 is decent and he's chatting her up, but ultimately let's us know they're both a little off their rockers and it wasn't worth it.

Learned that the hard way.

Girl 2 is by no means attractive, but starts chatting up me and my other buddy and tells me she thinks we matched on Tinder a year or two ago (I have no idea nor did I at the time). I go along with it for a bit as my buddy chats with girl 1, but girl 2 becomes near unbearable pretty quick and we realize we need to abort (hope that doesn't sound too douchey, she was just overly drunk, very pushy and not attractive).

Time to move on, only she won't let us out of her sight and borderline corners us by the bar. Trying to act disinterested but the message was not being received.

As we're standing by the bar and I see a group of three girls starting to walk right by us. The second girl is very cute, but I lock eyes with the 3rd because she can tell I'm struggling with girl 2 and sees it in my face right away. I mouth "help me" to her, because my buddy and I felt bad just leaving girl 2 with my other buddy and girl 1, but we all needed to abort anyway.

So I stick out my hand reaching for the third girl of the new group, and she clues in right away and pulls me over. I open on her like I've known her for years, with a "how's it going? it's been a while!" and we immediately break into a fake catch up routine, pretending to be old friends , asking about work, etc. This girl was far and away the MVP of the night.

Anyway, girl 2 is still behind me but slowly gets the hint and as soon as she leaves, I open on the other 2 girls in the group, introducing myself and asking for their names. The second one, who really caught my eye on their walk past, is coincidentally the only single one and the other two make it obvious to me by hinting that I should focus on her.

After the intros and joking around about what just happened had ended, me and the single one break off a bit to chat more to ourselves. Cute little brown haired girl, very innocent looking. I was hooked. She mentions how she likes to dance, but the bar we're at doesn't have a dance floor.

"Want to go check out bar Y?" I ask, knowing there's a bar with a great dance floor a block and a half away and I've definitely hit my level of drunk that turns me into a somewhat acceptable dancer (acceptable used very loosely here :P).

She agrees and the two of us bounce to the other bar to "check it out", so I lead her by the hand out the bar and to the next one. We hit the dance floor, up the kino and chat more while dancing. It was a great connection and I was attracted on many levels.

After about 10-20 minutes of dancing, I tell her we should grab a drink. I grab us a round at the bar then ask if she's ready to head out, and she says yes (soft? maybe, but we were on the same wave length so I didn't feel like I had to force it).

She invites me over, grabs the uber for us and we go have some fun (although my intoxication didn't allow me to get as far as I would've liked...sigh).

Anyway, I thought it was a really fun experience that came from what started out as a very annoying night. A big take away for me is that no matter how your night starts or is going, stay positive because you never know what could happen or what opportunities could present themselves.

Personal takeaways are that I did well building comfort and leading her to different locations/spots, but next time know I can be a little more direct in terms of logistics and limit my alcohol intake. Also, don't be afraid to outright bail if a girl is being unpleasant - it's not worth anyone's time.

This turned into a longer FR than I intended, but hope you all enjoyed! Happy to hear comments and/or critiques.
