Last night I went out alone. I live in Colorado and there's a downtown area near my home where I like to go practice pickup because it's a strip with a few good bars to bounce between. Last night was particularly busy.

First I hit up the bar where I know the bartender and order a drink to begin the night. There are people to the left and right of me but they're a chair away and it's easier for me to chat w/ the bartender, get hyped, and drink than to open. Later two people walk in so I move and offer them a seat.

A guy named Kyle ends up sitting next to me and we end up talking. I find out the name of his two female friends and also the fact he's gay. We became friends though and I hope to meet his female friends again later. Anyways, he had to work Sunday and leaves while I stay to chat with Lauren and this older hippie couple. I got a little kino in on Laura which I was really proud of because I know I'm getting better at knowing how to escalate. Eventually Laura says she has to leave but promises to come back. This leaves me with the older couple for awhile until we all eventually realize she isn't coming back. I shrug it off though and the woman asks me if I'm here to pickup girls and I was completely unashamed of admitting I was.

I eject from that set and see Laura with another girl outside across the street but don't open because she is on the phone. Later when I walked by them I saw two guys chatting to them. Much later they were gone with the guys still there plus two more dudes.

Fast forward to the most interesting part of the night. I open a guy and girl at the bar. Her name is Nicole and the guy is really stand off-ish. I later find out they met that night and I really feel like a creep chatting with this lady whom this guy clearly looks annoyed is talking with me. I guess it feels like I'm about to steal this girl he's been taking with all night (?) while we talk about our tattoos. She touched my arms a few times during this but I quickly learn she is drunk. Long story short this lady ended up giving the both of us the cold shoulder at the end of the night. When I asked if she had a Facebook or phone number she said no so I felt like it was a waste of time to talk any longer when she clearly wasn't interested so I just told her to have a good night and ejected.

I'm going to try pickup again tonight if things go well.
