Frame is vital and women have ways to shake you and see how strong yours is. Why do you think they are into cold reads? Why are they into the wishy-washy arts: astrology, tarot, talking with the dead, and all that mystical stuff. Because these activities get you out a fact-based world and leave you exposed for who you are at your core. They make you hold your reality without anything solid. It's just you. This is my weaknes. I've always been science-y and abhor this stuff, but it's to my own undoing.
I had a relationship with a really beautiful, amazing girl go sour because I couldn't hold frame when she read me tarot cards. She gave me a reading. The cards foresaw uncertainty and change in the relationship. I didn't know how to react. I resisted the read and said the doom they predicted was wrong. It only made me look more uncertain and the relationship ultimately crumbled.
I'm still friends with this person. We broke up about a year ago but was hanging with with her last night. Another guy was over, someone she's going on a trip with soon. She asked us if anyone wanted their cards read. I said hell no and went to play with her kids, but I listened to their reading. She had him hold the idea of their trip together in his mind as he picked the cards. He drew three upside down and one right side up. Upside down usually means doom and gloom, and in this case it did too. She said the cards said he was ungrounded, that things were a horrible mistake, that he was looking to fill holes in his life, and fleeing responsibilities.
It would have messed with me so much if this was me. This stuff is my weakness. But not he. All he said in response was "That doesn't sound like a vacation." My ex said, oh maybe another thought slipped in while you were concentrating. Maybe you didn't think fully on the trip and a different idea drifted in. He said "That must be it" and the reading was over. If it had been me I would have damned the damn cards and cursed her for believing, for putting trust in the trip to some pieces of paper. But with a few words he completely redirected the negative results and stayed calm. He refused to see a reality where it was possible their trip would be uncertain and not fun. He sidestepped like a pro.
I have much to learn.
I'm curious, are there any ways tarot has messed with you? Astrology? Any advice on how to get through it when the cards or planets foresee doom?
there doesn't seem to be anything here
