Any strategies how to handle this situation? Her longtime male friend from back home will be there, so I wonder how that will go. I know a couple of the other guests, but unsure of what to expect.

Background story -

I am friends with Oneitis and another girl (engaged), and last semester the friendship started to build as the semester progressed. Before winter break we went out as a group and had fun. I walked with her back to the station we had to go to, and felt as if there was some chemistry.

She had a LDR with a dude she tried to break up with but ignored her over the semester, so she wanted to settle it face-to-face before moving on.

Fast-forward -- She settles what it is back home with the ex, I try and ask her out and get the "not ready" answer (I figured we had chemistry and she was over the LDR). I waited a couple more weeks and ask her out to something casual... nah not happening. Thus, I let it go and figure might as well just be friends, but I'm still attracted to her.
