What's the deal with texting?

Last night I was talking too a girl in a bar. A few nights prior to this my friend kissed her friend and got her number.

I was speaking to this girl and asked what was happening between them and she said ''Oh no, she's not gonna see him again. She said he's boring''. I said, ''yeah? why?''

She replied ''The night after they kissed, she texted him like 'hey, what are you up too?' and he replied ''Just getting a takeaway Chinese and a bottle of wine and watching the football''

That's it. That reply apparently blew his chances. ''boring'' - I haven't had the heart to tell him yet!! :)

What's funnier is that I think I might have made a similar 'mistake' with the friend who I ended up kissing and she facebooked me a message the next day. I replied. And now no replies and I've been left on 'seen'.

Should we be really trying to sexualise everything on every text possible, or at least making up stories and try being funny and giving the impression of an absolutely crazy life or something?
