Getting back into game, any pointers?

You're very outcome oriented. "I need to get 5 numbers", "I need an approach to not go south". Are those factors 100% under your control?

You can approach someone perfectly and it can still go south because they're just not interested in talking to / meeting a stranger at this time or they have a boyfriend. This is in fact very common.

Is it 100% within your control to get someone's phone number? No. And who cares about phone number? It's a completely arbitrary goal. A phone number means nothing. You want to build some sort of relationship with women, right?. The phone number is just a way to continue that relationship if you can't spend more time together right at this time and you want to meet each other again. If she notices you asking for a number when you haven't established any kind of relationship, and you don't really have to leave each other, then she's going to wonder why you're asking for a number at this time.

Focus instead on learning from each interaction and trying to form real relationships instead of just a phone number. When things fail, try figure out why. You said that when things go south you feel awkward. Well no shit Sherlock, everyone feels that way when their approach goes south. Your goal is to figure out why it went south in the first place so you can reduce the likelihood that it happens the next time. Your goal is NOT to try to stay cool and confident when an approach is going south. That serves no purpose. Your goal is to reduce the chance that it goes south, learn from it when it does go south, and forgive yourself, be kind to yourself, and realize a lot of approaches will go south and that's just the nature of the game. If you notice things going south just bow out and say "nice to meet you" and leave. Don't try to save an approach if it's not there. Women find that very creepy. They don't find it necessarily creepy to be approached. But they find it creepy when they give the guy cold vibes / act disinterested or mean and the guy is still there trying to spit his game instead of just taking the hint and moving on to someone else.

Workout often/5 days a week.
Slow down and calm your approach.
Learn to understand your worth.
Make a list of your ideal person.
Realize it's a numbers game and be completely welcoming of being rejected.

Listen I understand man. The best advice I have is find a mentor or someone who helps you. If not go to a bar and just sit and observe. Understand how conversation fourms and how girls are approached. Don’t make it a challenge just breath it all in and write down what you see. Smaller steps lead to better outcomes.
