So I have this closet gay best friend who nearly fell for me. I am the only one who knows his deepest secrets because he got so opened up to me because I gained his trust. He is a blank book. He absorbed the knowledge and my philosophies. We talk about deep sophisticated things about life, death and everything. He admitted he had this crush on me but he was unsure because I am a girl. I am that type of girl who rarely falls for anyone. I find it pretty much easy to get guys to like me. But when my best friend said he made up his mind and rather have me fall for someone else because he loves gay men more, it made my emotions burst and became emotional. He doesn’t like me like he used to, when he usually sends signals of being attracted to me like teasing me and sarcastically saying that he loves me. It’s like we’ve became strangers once more. My mind is not functioning well as it used to but I am trying to rebuild that lost bond. I’ve tried experimenting and doing as he says. He runs away if I get to close to him. Trying to push my words away from him. When I did that, he seems to send signals that he knows that I am trying to make him fall for me or at least attracted to me. (Although I am not directly telling him to fall for me, complimenting him then end it with a teasing or just teasing him, he pushes me away and tries to take control of the conversation. I have not even told him directly I want to be with him, he tells me to move on and keeps repeating it.) Lately, he distracts himself by watching gay porn and movies. His attention is averted from me and into his gay stuff. We used to watch gay porn together but then he asked me that we should stop. After some time, I tried to calm down. I tried talking with him using his ego. (I would text him if he already ate and ask about the gay movies he watches and I watch it and help him release his emotional build up.) He only talks to me because he has all these feelings and he has no one to share it with but me. We talk casually every now and then. Like the best friend title had disappeared. Additionally, he moved to a far away city to study. Although we still talk to each other, there are things he is still closed about himself. He usually tells me everything but lately he is not reporting everything that has happened to him. We used to talk about our sexuality and our sexual desires, every time he hears the word “pussy” or “vagina,” he keeps saying that it’s disgusting. One day, he keeps saying that he does not know how to respond to me so I told him I would give him space. He stopped talking to me for about a week but then approached me through text. He told me that he had withdrawal syndrome and he admitted that he’s addicted talking to me. I am wondering if I am on the right track and what techniques do I have to do in order to win him back. He will be back in town later this year. I am wondering if it’s best to stop being close with him and go full attack mode when he comes back?
