Hey all. I've looked through all the sidebar guides and couldn't find anything directly referencing this, so I was wondering about a general thing girls do. Last night I was talking to a girl at a party I wouldn't have minded hooking up with, and she was complaining about how her RA invited her to hang out that night and they would have hooked up, and it would have been a better evening. Now, in the past whenever a girl has discussed other guys with me, I always just assumed it was a symptom of the friend-zone even when I hadn't known them all that well, and I realize now that that's probably a dumb assumption. So what I'm wondering is, if a girl mentions another guy she has been/would be involved with, is this automatically ruling you out, or is it a possible IOI? Obviously it's different from girl to girl, but I just want to hear it iterated if mentioning another guy in that context is a surefire sign that she isn't interested.

tl;dr If a girl mentions a guy she's hooked up with, is that a sign that she isn't interested with you or a sign that she might be?

P.S. Since seddit loves FRs, when she asked me what would make my New Year's better when I said it was "okay" so far, I said it sucked not having anyone to kiss, unlike last year. Maybe I should have gone for a kiss right there, but even bringing something flirty like that up, plus the fact that I was using kino when I talked to girls in general, is a big step up for me.
