Hey so I transferred to this college almost a year ago and have made zero friends because I didn't put myself out there. Halfway through the summer now and I've been alone in this city the whole time with all the clubs/societies at school closed. Anyways I got invited to a party on facebook, it's an open bar at some pub/club and there should be over a 100 people going and I won't know a single one. Any tips on how to conduct myself? I never know what to talk about and don't follow sports or share similar music tastes with anyone.

Edit: Some things I'd like to know how to handle specifically,

  • How to play off going there alone. Everyone will be going with their friend groups I guarantee it, what do I say when people ask 'who did you come with?'

  • How to get into conversations
