Go talk and do your thing you said you could do. You don't need to be center of the party.

You don't need to be the most attractive guy there if your only objective is to get her. You need to be the most attractive guy to HER that's willing to show her she's the most attractive woman to YOU.
Don't try and emulate the drunk "alpha", as you'll just come across as awkward. Be friendly, but be sexual with her. Let it be known to her that you are attracted to her through your actions. Start with grabbing her hand and leading her somewhere, try and isolate her from everyone else before making a move if you believe she is the shy type. Build comfort with her through out your interaction before you try and get sexual with her. If she lets you kiss her, escalate, push it further, turn her on. I wouldn't even bother just going for a number close here, push the physical interaction as far as she will let you. You're on vacation, it's a party, her inhibitions will be lowered by that alone. Above all else, have fun.

Thanks for the kind and detailed response! My problem is, that the guy is distractive as hell. On the normal, non-party evenings (we're skiing, so going on the slope with a hangover isn't the smartest thing), I had good conversation with her, it felt great and two days ago at a party I was the center of attention, which gave great results. Now aftee yesterday, I feel like it's a battle for attention, because getting ones attention/going for a dance is difficult, if they are already distracted. But you made an important point I forgot totally: having fun!
