I have been part of seddit for some time, but after watching RSD, reading No More Mr. Nice Guy, and Models, I realize one of my biggest weaknesses is validation seeking.

Particularly when it comes to girls I'm emotionally invested in choosing someone else. This is a recurring pattern in my life. A recent example would be an ex who just broke up with me (again) and ran right back to her ex (again). She was terrible with me, treated me like crap, and I put up with it far too long. However the fact she ran back to her ex AGAIN bothers me, and I have this deep feeling of jealousy and almost a want of trying to win her back even though I was unhappy.

I realize this is unhealthy, and I realize how much validation seeking that truly is (I need this girl's validation even though I AM THE PRIZE, and I truly mean this... even her friends-became mutual friends have told me that I deserve better than what she is doing to me.)

Again, while I'm in a specific scenario right now I can't help but feel like I'm validation seeking anytime this comes up so I want to end it for good in all situations. I have since slept with another girl, yet she ran to other guys as well and I am feeling the same validation seeking feelings. How do I put an end to this?

TL;DR: Anytime I get emotionally involved with a girl (relationship, exes, etc) and they choose someone else, I can't help but feel like I need to "win" them back, which is stupid because logically I realize they don't deserve me. It's an extreme form of validation seeking, and I want that to stop, but don't know how to kill it.
