Thank you for the reply, makes sense. The majority of pubs near me though are not great and tend to not have as attractive girls in them. I will try your pointers though :)

I'm pretty rusty about night clubs and bars. But having spent some time inside these places, I remember a certain mindset I had.

''Guys only want sex now.''

He might have said ''Hi, I'd like to have a civilized chat about global poverty.'' and all I would hear was ''Hi, I want sex tonight.'' That's probably the reason many girls have snappy comebacks and resting bitch faces.

My advice would be to work with your accent and talk about how you had just recently arrived in the States and go on from there. Talk about what you like about the country and where you have been, where you want to go etc. Everybody loves foreigners. I remember all my barriers going down while mingling with a tourist group at a bar. But if a native approached me, I would immediately shut down and his words would turn into ''Sex, sex, sex.''

Try to hit pubs, instead of night clubs. That way conversation becomes the focal point instead of dancing/grinding and you have a better chance at wooing women with your accent/stories. I've also noticed that I feel a lot more open and safe at pubs compared to nightclubs. So because women feel safer, they're more likely to hold a conversation with you.

From my experience the better looking the girl is, the better her reaction. It's only when you come across too strong that they have an averse reaction. Whenever I approach an ugly girl I regret it because they are insecure, difficult and play hardest to get because they know they are nothing.
