There's a girl (lifeguard) at the local pool that I'd like to meet but I don't know how to go about doing it. Sometimes there are other lifeguards sitting with her at the table where you check in/out. Everyone is in there 20s if I had to guess. I'm there to swim, so I'm not stopping in the water looking for conversation. I don't bring a towel with me into the pool area so after I'm done swimming I just pick up my pass from the table and go right to the locker room. She worked there during the summer, and I'm going now over break. I've been every day the past week and a bunch of times over the summer, so I'm sure she recognizes me.

When I come in I always address the people at the table "Hello, good afternoon, how is everyone doing today, etc" and when I leave I thank them and tell them to have a good night. The lifeguards rotate between table duties and actual lifeguarding duties, so I talk/say hi to everyone.

Any ideas how to approach this girl if she's in a group? I was thinking about asking them as a group what it's like to be a lifeguard, then maybe asking her a more specific follow up question to start a conversation with her alone. Did I miss my chance with her? Would it be weird to introduce myself after so long? (I was away at school during the fall)
