So, I'm a 19 year old university student studying engineering. I'm a huge introvert, every week I work, eat, sleep, workout and play some game. I have hard time making friends and most of my friends that are in my city (I moved from my hometown) are very "studious" (never go out, study everyday, etc)
I realized few days ago that my hair looks like a hair-ball spewed out from a cat. So I decided to go to my usual place and get a hair cut. While I'm getting a hair cut, this 20-year oldish looking blonde (HB6~7) barber chats up with me. We talk for about 20 mins about weather, music, concerts, what we do during weekends, etc. She also tells me about this great "gathering" happening every Sunday where people go to chill and how I should go. After getting my haircut, I just walked out.
about ten minutes later, I realized that I should have asked her out. I know it could be weird since I go to that barbershop every month. I also know how some barbers chat up with their costumers. But what the hell, if I don't call her and ask her out, I'm going to regret it all day for being a pussy and sulk while playing DOTA. So after contemplating in my head for a while, I decided to call the barbershop to ask her out. (I obviously didn't have her phone number, so I called the barbershop.)
Bell rings for a bit "ring ring, ring ring." Then ...... automative answering machine picks it up. So I hang up and call the place again. "Ring ring, ring ring." Automative answering machine picks up once again. This was the universe's way of telling me, "you fucking pussy, you should have asked her out right away..."
I'm still proud of myself for calling the place. (kind of) I would have NEVER called to ask someone out in the first place.
But I was wondering, did I do the right thing? How should I go about it the next time?(If a similar situation occurs) Is trying to ask out your barber a weird thing? Or was my "fuck it"-attitude a right way to go?
