We all influence people whether we know it or not. It is often unconscious and sometimes it is a negative influence. The most important person you can influence is yourself. The ability to influence ones self is the key to getting more of what you want.

Being an influential man is about taking responsibility for yourself and your surroundings. It is not about complaining about the crap but doing something about it. When you are influential, people listen to whatever you have to say. People will respect and look up to you. They will be willing to help out when you need it.

Here are some tips to being influential and a leader.

  1. Speak in terms of what is in it for them. Notice in your language if you use "you" or "I" more often. Use you if you want to engage people.

  2. Draw out emotions from people. People act based off of emotion and the best way to do that is to put pictures in people heads. Put pictures of what you want them to do and have them see themselves enjoying and succeeding.

  3. Understand your why and get them behind that.
