You already have some decent rapport. If you feel the need to force something in text convo just for the sake of having something else to say then don’t. Go for the date - it seems like she’s into the idea and you also let her have some time to think about you a bit. Needy would be constantly texting her up into the date and not leaving her alone.

TLDR; met a girl in an Uber pool, we hit it off over pizza, she told me to text her. Not sure where to go after the convo died, don't want to be needy.

Hey guys, writing this on my phone so excuse formatting. On Sunday I had to run a bunch of errands which ended with me taking an Uber Pool to my house, on the way we picked up this girl who was high asf, but super friendly and had really good energy about her.

She gets in the car and we instantly start talking. We get to talking about pizza and tell her how pineapple pizza isnt real pizza and we debate. We talk for basically the whole ride while the other rider and driver sat in silence. The details don't matter but she was being super flirty.

When I got dropped off, she told the Uber driver she'll just get off here cause she wanted to grab Gelato. I say I gotta go home so I do. But I felt stupid for leaving that interaction like I did so I got dressed and thought I'd stop but the Gelato place and turns out she forgot her phone in the Uber, she calls it from my phone and gets it back. As she's leaving she said, now that you have my number, text me.

I'm not good at this when texting thing. Should I be building more rapport or just go for the date? What would you guys say next so I don't come across needy?
