If you are waiting for your date, wait 25 minutes MAX. If she doesn't show up, pick up the phone and call her. If she doesn't pick up, walk out. Don't text her, don't leave a voice-mail, and don't listen to any negative thoughts in your brain. Just fucking walk out and move on. Optional: delete her from your phone.
It all comes down to your original interaction. You have to build rapport. The real question is if you did a good enough job conveying to her what kind of person you are. Did you leave her wanting more? Did you earn the right to take her out? Just because a girl gives you her number doesn't mean shit. Sometimes she'll just fuck with you on purpose. But the biggest thing that can turn off a woman is neediness. Don't ever convey this negative attribute for a second, it is an instant attraction killer.
Last week I got stood up twice in a row, by the same girl. It's kind of funny in retrospect, but at the same time I had to learn to not let it get to me personally. I'd admit, I was pretty hurt when it happened.
STORY
Met girl, we made out heavily, exchanged numbers and agreed to meet up (to lunch). The usual.
She never shows up. So I CALL her (yea, I used my phone to call and not text). She picks up and genuinely sounds sorry. She apologies profusely, and I tease her on how she's gonna make it up to me. She says to me she'll do anything. I believed her. We agreed to dinner the same day and I texted her the location. She texted me apologizing once more and confirming she'll meet me there.
Dinner. After 20 minutes of sitting in the restaurant, it hit me. Yep, she was standing me up again. I don't know if you guys have ever been stood up before but it's like this overwhelming feeling of uselessness. Every thought is pretty much thrown out. You are left alone surrounded by happy couples all around you, telling the wine dude going around with a bottle of wine to fuck off. You look like an chump.
Don't be me. Don't call her 3 times and keep asking if she was coming. Don't leave a text afterwards saying "ouch that hurt.", it's just needy behavior.
TL;DR If you are ever stood up, laugh it off. Don't take it personally. Make sure you did a good enough job in your first interaction(s) conveying who you are.
