We recently polled our Game Global Telegram group (1,000+ members) - and some 49% listed approach anxiety as their biggest sticking point. That's what prompted me to created this series.
Day 1 of 7 - How To Build Your Self-Esteem.
Day 2 of 7 - How To Be Motivated To Approach.

Day 4 of 7 - How To Open - A Detailed Guide
Overcoming premature ejection
Ok, so you've battled past approach anxiety, you've done your open, but the set is not going immediately well.
You can't stand the social pressure, so you bounce.
This is (I suppose) the second stage of "approach anxiety". We'll call it "premature ejection."
It needs to be overcome because it's extremely rare that she'll be immediately excited about speaking to a stranger.
That's just the way it goes. For all you she knows, you could be dangerous, creepy, asking for money, the next chode of the night.
She doesn't know you're cool yet, so you need ot keep providing evidence that you are. Prepare to provide around 90% of the content in the first couple of minutes of the interaction.
You should also prepare for absolutely no sign that she's enjoying it during this time. In all likelihood, she's going to be confused, nervous, perhaps even scared. It's your job to show her she has no reason to be!
Here are three reasons why guys can't (or won't) 'swing through the open' and keep talking until her interest is hooked.
#1 They think it's impossible to turn this bad start around
Guys make the mistake of thinking that the only sets that can go well are those where her face lights up immediately.
In the first few seconds, it'll certainly Iook like she doesn't want to talk to you, because she doesn't yet!
However, if you can plow through this rough landing with some witticisms and light-hearted banter, she'll often warm up to you.
#2 The anxiety becomes too much
When all eyes are on you and they're still unsure whether you're cool, it creates a lot of social pressure. This can be hard to deal with if you're not used to it.
Perhaps 'fight or flight' mode kicks in - and you quickly choose "flight".
My advice would be to push yourself to stay in set for a bit longer. Get used to the social pressure.
It gets easier to handle with experience.
#3 You think you've 'run out of things to say
I say 'think' because no-one ever truly runs out of things to say. We just run out of things that we think are 'good enough' for our audience.
You can lower the bar for what's 'good enough' when you realise that your vibe is worth so much more than the actual words you say. Some 93% of your communication from your vibe - (body language, voice tonality, positive energy, excitement, fun etc).
When you truly believe that whatever you have to say is great (as you probably do around your friends and family), you'll never run out of things to say.
However, if you don't feel this way, you may feel the desire to prematurely eject yourself from the set.
How to get better at swinging through the open
It's mostly a case of building your self-esteem (see day 1) and practicing dealing with social pressure.
A fun exercise that could also help is 'word association'. This is a common warm-up in improv comedy classes, where you have to do a 2-minute monologue with each sentence being based on a word in the last.
"My t-shirt is blue.........I like blue because it's the colour of the sky....I was in the sky last week when I went on holiday to Majorca.....Majorca is a small island in Spain, but it's not the best island.....The best island is Ibiza because of the massive night clubs. My favourite night club was......"
An example of how this might work in a daygame set using The London Daygame Model (see day 4)
"I noticed you look really nice. Nice like some sort of glamourous fashion person.....I was wondering if you were perhaps a tourist here for London Fashion Week......you had this wonderous look in your eye like a tourist....a look in your eye that you were blown away by our fair capital city....."
Ultimately, the best way to improve at swinging through the open is to go out and actually do it with a real life woman.
The more you do it, the easier it gets.
I've co-launched WhatsApp and Telegram groups for men who want to become incredible with women. Thousands of guys sharing their success stories and getting feedback on their sticking points. A real brotherhood. To join a group, drop me a private message with your phone number (for WhatsApp) or username (Telegram).
