Basically the first part of the dream I don't remember anything. Except at the end where I am talking to this girl (a friend in real life who is married) and am making a fool out of myself and being socially challenged, etc.
Then the interesting part happens. Basically I find out that my brother is friends with some PUA. "Why isn't he getting chicks then?", I think to myself.
So I meet my brother's PUA friend and my first thoughts are wow this guy is kinda ugly. He probably doesn't get chicks. He is probably struggling. But then somehow, due to his charisma, I totally forget how ugly he is and I want to hang out with him. This is the key essence behind pick up that I witnessed in the dream. I don't know that I can pinpoint what it was now, but it was so clear in the dream. It was all his attitude.
Next, this PUA friend is asking me about my religious beliefs. I tell him and his are different. But he doesn't argue about it or try to act like he has an air of superiority.
He then demonstrates a genuine passion in something. Like there are a bunch of cars and he says "that is a beautiful car" emphatically. But it turns out the car he is talking about is an older model year of the car I own. So he was paying me an indirect possibly unintentional yet sincere compliment.
Next thing is clothes/dress. Him and his friends (other PUAs) show me that all it is is little details that stand out. In real life this area seems so complicated to me. But in the dream its very simple. They weren't dressed crazily. Just like normal attire, but with a twist. There were aspects of what they were wearing that really stood out. There was not really any super special secret to it aside from that, but somehow that's what I think in real life. Like I feel like everyone else is in the know and I just have no idea what looks good and what doesn't.
Next, we are walking in a park and this PUA and like 3 other of his friends (who are also PUAs) are each leading a chain of 3 girls by the hand through the park. Like each of them is holding the hand of a girl who is holding the hand of another girl who is holding the hand of another girl.
These are girls are ok-good, not very beautiful, I think to myself. But its not the quality that counts. Its clear in the dream that they are just getting started and they can leverage their skill to get hotter girls. The fact that they already have 3 girls each following them is damn impressive. Then they say something like "Now, if we were handsome like you, we would've already picked up some models". This part is key because I often feel like my being a fatass is holding me back. Yet these guys who are semi-ugly are still so far advanced in terms of game. And yet, they acknowledge that if they were given what I had (and what I shrug off) they would be so much further!
Then I run into another real-life friend who is also walking through the park with an ok-good girl. He is on a traditional date, not doing PUA stuff. He sees me walking after these PUA guys and he says to me "Where are you going with these guys?". I stumble my words and mumble something like "I'll tell you later."
So this might be a stupid post but I wanted to share it because I feel like the underlying thing in pick up is something beyond the routines/structures/etc. It was something in the attitude. It was so perfectly clearly presented to me in the dream but now I'm not sure I can identify what that is. And thats what I wanted to ask about.
TL;DR - The underlying essence of Pick Up was presented to my clearly in a dream. It is an attitude. But I can't really identify what that essence is now.
