So Saturday, I (22 y/o male) went to the local food fest at a beach by my area with a girl (24 y/o female) I met back in nursing school. I need an evaluation on that whole day. So today, this girl was interested in for quite awhile picked me up and we headed to the beach for a food festival (I asked her to pick me up and she agreed). I asked her if she wanted to go to the food fest a couple of months ago and then reminded her last week if she wanted to go. Both times she said yes and also agreed to pick me up. I asked my friends if this was a date because I had an interest in her and half said yes and the other half said no. I was kind of nervous and excited for that day but I only had $30. I kept on checking the weather because it was an outdoor event and it was raining the day we were supposed to go. So I texted my friend “Dude, it’s gonna rain on Friday and I only got $30. I think I can scrub the food fest thing but what other options do I have?” but then I realize the text didn’t go to my friend. It went to the girl I was interested in. I texted her “Sorry, wrong text” and she said “haha no problem”. The next day I texted her and asked her if we’re still on for Friday and she suggested Saturday instead because the weather was nicer. So on Saturday, she arrived 10 minutes early than she said she’ll arrive and we headed of to the beach. We casually talked about school and our family (both of us lived with our parents and siblings). So first stand we decide to eat at, I paid for our food even though she tried paying for her own. The second stand where we got, she paid and we split the dish. We took a break from eating and talked for quite awhile about school (nursing school to be exact), our families, trips we’ve taken to other countries, what we experienced in our jobs, religion (I know, I know, but both of us shared the same views and I wasn’t the one who brought up the subject), our friends, me graduating in July and she told me about enjoying the single life after getting out and over a two year relationship. We decided to eat at one more stand. The third stand we ate at, we both paid for our own hot food items. We went home and she dropped me of at my place. On the way there, we talked about the same stuff and I thanked her for bringing me out. When she dropped me off at my house, I asked her if she wanted to do something like this again. I also said “I know you don’t want any serious relationships but how about just a casual date? I’m in no position to be in a serious relationship” and she said “Yea, I’m looking for a beach buddy but I don’t want to interfere with your nursing studies”. After that I told her “Look, it is no problem and doing well in nursing school. Just text me when your free to do something”. After that she said “okay, sure”. I got out of her car, walked into my house. I didn't even try for a hug.

Do you think I have another shot at a casual date? How would you analyze this whole thing? Where did I go wrong and where can I make improvements?
