Long story short. Currently, I'm spending my university exchange abroad. Some time ago during regular groceries, a charming cashier caught my eye. I know that smiling and being polite is part of her duties, but I would like to take advantage of being 'new in town' and ask her out, or at least get her number to chat a bit. However, my 'proficiency' in the local language is limited to basic phrases, as hello, thank you, have a nice day, etc.

What would you suggest in this situation?
