Hey everyone, basically, I'm a college student with very few (if any) friends and still a virgin (no kiss, no nothing), but I've been working on getting better. I still fight social anxiety something fierce, and don't approach nearly as much as I would like to, and have immense trouble escalating even if I do approach, or getting to the point when I can ask a girl on a date. On the other hand, I've been exercising, trying to eat more healthy, and working on being more emotionally stable, so that's something.

Anyway, I managed to chat up this really nice and quite pretty girl during a break between my classes, and it was probably one of my better approaches - we had great rapport, she laughed a lot and seemed really interested, and when I suggested I get her number and for us to meet up again, she readily agreed. The problem is, afterwards...nothing. I texted her, no response, I even tried to call her against my better judgement, and nobody picked up. OK, so she's not interested, I can get a hint. I'm used to getting nowhere with women that it doesn't really annoy me or make me wonder what's wrong with me as much as it used to.

Problem is, I can't understand what went wrong. Normally, I can identify pretty quickly if a girl is hesitant, or if there was definitely a point where I screwed up, but here was about as awesome an interaction as I could see, and I expected to at least get a response or even a date, not an immediate cold shoulder. I know that I shouldn't worry about stuff like this and just move on, but it gnaws at me because I've learned nothing from the experience, it just seemed like the universe flipping me a finger and going "LOL, you thought you were going to get somewhere with a girl? In your dreams, sucker!" for no reason.
