Man I hear this so often and more so than just repeating some spiritual or motivational or pushy quote I’ve heard myself, I had to sit back and go “why the fuck would you want to approach if you’re scared?”

I thought back to where I use to be in the beginning and now I get it. I mean I really fucking get it now. When you’re in a head space where everything is cool and nothing can go wrong...why would you want to fuck that up? Seriously.

I thought of it logically as if I’m in bed trying to get 8 hours of sleep or about to enjoy my favorite meal and someone asks me to do something outrageous like change my mental state mid sleep or right in the middle of my meal.

Imagine that! Someone waking you up at 2:35am and saying “go do a thing that scares you!” Fully expecting you to do it, succeed at it and then NOT go back to sleep or finish your food. Kinda silly right?

I’m not saying don’t approach in fact I’m 100% pro approach 24/7! I just had to think about it for a minute and go “why do we just spit ‘just fucking do it bro’ at guys all the time?” Well:

  1. Its that we want them to be the very best version of themselves

  2. We want them to experience all the great things that come with a successful approach and the adrenaline rush when it goes well

  3. We know being in that “fear state” sucks

  4. The comfort zone can freaking ruin you

  5. It’s fun!

So to the guys that are too scared to approach and feel like you’re getting the same advice all the time. Know that it comes from a good place and we’re not being pushy or anything when we want you to open a 2-3 set in a loud club and she’s out of your league.

To the guys that no longer deal with approach anxiety, let your buddy know the real reasons why you’re pushing him. I mean really tell him why you’re pushing him vs literally just pushing him across the bar or mall into set after set while he’s sweating and tripping over his words.

We’re all on the same journey. Why not help the next man out?
