She's scared of you. Although she enjoyed the initial invitation, she got scared of the idea of meeting with a random stranger. You put her in a high pressure situation and she buckled. Good approach but you missed out on the substance.
The good news is that she actually told you what the issue is.

What this says is that you didn't spend enough time taking to her. You could also treat that as a shit test if you don't just end the conversation with the number.
Overall, I think she's still into you. I'd say text her once more to set up one more date. Crack some joke/ tease about her being scared.

When a girl does that put your phone up to her chest and say just give me your number with a smirk on your face, she will give it to you.i mean really they text guys they meet on tinder after a day all the time and they never met that guy irl lol so it’s a defense mechanism or low interest. The same defense mechanism as when they say I have a boyfriend when they don’t have one lol they are so used to saying that it just comes out even when they like a guy. I always call bullshit and say that I’ll say “I call bullshit or you lie!” I do this in a playful way and she either gives me her number cuz it’s funny and ballsy and something new or she explains her situation in detail and shows me pics of her boyfriend with her (probly cuz I built some attraction and she wants to prove to me that she actually has a boyfriend cuz even though she isn’t gonna leave her man for me she does like me a little and wants to save face to me) there’s no way to know for sure why they do that but I know girls usually don’t explain things to guys they don’t wanna talk to they just blow them off.

I don’t know what seems cheesy about it lol It’s more of a ballsy move they get caught off guard cuz they aren’t used to having a guy call them out on their lie and usually end up staying in detail they really do have a boyfriend or they give you their number. If you just accept her saying I have a boyfriend half the time that’s an auto defense, they say it so much even if they kinda like you it comes out lol. So you might as well find out for real put your phone to around her chest level and say just give me your number with a smirk or smile like your not being aggressive but your also used to getting what you want and if she gives it to you cool if not no big deal. If she tells you she has a boyfriend and she really does and is sticking to it don’t say “he’s a really lucky guy I hope he treats you well” Ive heard guys say that so many times and it sounds so supplicating. Instead make it more like “okay that’s cool you and I woulda been a lot of fun together though” this way if you run into her in a month or 2 and she’s single you didn’t totally fish all over her and you’ll have a much better shot of getting her by not saying in subtext: I really like you and id your boyfriend isn’t treating you well I would treat you amazing and in putting you on a pedestal. That’s what the “oh he’s a really like guy I hope he treats you well” conveys

What works for me is:
I reply to her story in a creative way that will spark a conversation, from there you can continue to another topic. Depending on the situation whether you know the girl in person or not, you'll need anywhere from 2 days to 2 weeks to get to know each other a bit so that she will feel comfortable enough to go out with you. Once you get the date it's easy. Good luck bro!
