Today, I was thinking about my female friend's obsession with a movie star. She told me once upon a time that she would marry him. I thought it was ridiculous that someone would want to marry someone for a mirage of what they might be.

It then hit me. This is the same, when you think about it, tactics that we use to seduce women. I know, its not exactly the same, but keep reading. We are presenting a version of our selves that may or may not be true. We are sort of acting like the best possible us. Actors in a movie are acting like what their directors told them how to act. When women fall in love with these actors, its not because of their actual person, its because of how they act.

Consider Ryan Gosling. Overall, I don't think hes that attractive. But if you're a woman, you've seen him in countless of movies. One that sticks out in my mind is The Notebook. I can't recall the specifics of the movie, but women see the value he has in that movie and apply it to the person. If he is like this in real life (we will never know), but women do this all the time. Find me a woman that isn't in love with some celebrity or whatnot. It could be for the status, it could be for the money, but i personally feel like it's for the image the celebrity puts out via movies and tv shows. Not many people end up thinking that the male villain is "hot."

So when you go out there next time you sarge, consider this analogy. You are the actor in a big scripted movie of how awesome your life is. The directors, the community of /r/seduction and other resources, have given you pointers on how to do things the best you can do.
