I just happened to wander onto this sub (I'm a female and was just browsing for fun) but I can tell you what it would mean from a girls perspective... if she goes as long as a whole day without responding it likely means shes not totally invested. Yes of course people have things going on, and response times don't mean everything (level of interest and quality of messages mean more) but if it was myself or one of my friends and we were into a guy we would likely not wait 20 hours to respond. Texting with someone you have a crush on is exciting and wouldnt be put off. This doesnt mean you have no chance but simply that you're not a priority at the moment. (Again, just my personal and anecdotal experience).

She's gaming you. Which isn't half bad. At least she is staying engaged. Figure out what you want, and ju-jitsu her game. Texting relative to seduction and dating is (IMO) best limited as much as possible to a means to coordinate a get together, and little more. The far more important question (IMO) is does she show when you have a get together plan, or is she a flake? That to me is a far more important attribute that how "responsive" she is timewise to texts. If you "need" her to respond to you quickly, I would throw out the question of are you too needy here? The general rule in texting is "match her pacing".

Look around you... every time you’re in an elevator, in line, walking around randomly or even look look into the next car over at the next red light... now what do you see... a female with her phone in hand doing something on it. So all that bulkshit I was busy is just that. Women are never too busy to look at check their phones... I’ve seen them texting at 90 miles an hour on the highway while nearly killing me in the process by swerving into me. If she’s not getting back to you in a reasonable time frame she’s not invests or interested. Delete her number and move on.
