So, as a backstory, I used to be 320 pounds. This was pretty much my weight all through high school, and it took until my second year of college to really diet hard and I've lost about 100 pounds. So now I'm by no means a stud, and I still have too much flab about me and some loose skin that I'm working towards tightening, if that's how it works, but at least now I can fit into a large shirt, and I think I look halfway decent. Anyway, so that's my excuse for why I don't know anything about what I'm talking about.

Anyway, long story short, I met this girl at work and we became friends. Not too long before she left (we were both waiters, I still am), I asked for her number. It took a lot of courage, and I still don't know if it was a stupid way to ask for it, but I said, "Hey, if I were to ask for your number, what would you say?" And she said, with a bit of hesitation, presumably at not expecting me to ask, "I'd give it to you as a friend."

Anyway I don't really know what I said to get where I got next but she ended up giving me her number, and she said I could feel free to text her whenever. Well, since that time, she has quit as I said. I didn't want to lose touch with her so sometime later I invited her to play some board games with some friends and I, and she came.

She's REALLY bad at responding in a timely manner sometimes and after a while I told myself I was done. Like three times in a row I tried to set up a day for us to hang out but she said she was feeling really sick and couldn't make it. I thought she was dogging because she didn't respond to me for five days before saying she was feeling better and asking what I was up to that week. So it was nice to see her initiating hanging out.

Anyway so we set up a date to get together later that week. Now, I never meant to imply anything other than my idea of just the two of us meeting up at this board game cafe near-ish us. Well she texts me not just the day of that she invited a friend and I was kinda disappointed but I was like "Oh cool we can play a wider variety of games if we have more people." But then she said, "Ahh, she just said she can't come. But you have a friend coming?"

I never indicated that I had another friend coming so I said, "I didn't invited another friend but I'm sure I have some who free if you wanted another person there." And she says, "Yeah I'd probably prefer someone else there too." Well, as I said, I'd have preferred it to just be just us, but since she said too it makes me think maybe she only suggested she wanted someone else there cause she thought I also wanted someone else there. Or maybe she just wanted someone to indicate it wasn't a date ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I dunno but I fortunately had a friend free, one she already met at the first time we got together, and despite the scheduling hiccups he came and she came and we had a fun time. The next week I was hanging out with some different friends at his apartment and asked if she wanted to come, and she said she would have liked to but that she was having car trouble. So I told her out group will be getting together the next week if she wanted to come. So the following Tuesday I made plans to go to my friend's house on a local lake and use his jet ski, so I casually asked her the night before if she wanted to come, but she said it sounded fun, but she couldn't cause she had to help her mom/sister move furniture, but that she was still down for Thursday at my friend's apartment.

Well skip to Thursday, and she came, despite the place being pretty far from her and her not knowing anyone, and she got high and we played some party games and had a good time, and that was the last time we got together.

TL;DR: This girl I'm into has been consistently coming to hang out with me and my friends, and I'm not sure how I should go about asking her to do something more... intimate. Like I'd like to ask if she'd want to go to the zoo. Is that something I should ask? She isn't from our city, she's from from further north in the state and is here for school, so I might just be an outlet for her to try to be more social. But she wouldn't have trusted me enough to blindly come to one of my friend's apartments if she didn't enjoy my company, I would think. Is it worth perusing her? Is there a way to see if she would be interested?
