It always feels extremely awkward when I try to hold eye contact with a girl walking down the street.

Whenever I walk down the walkways at my college and I see a cute girl walking the opposite direction, it always feels SUPER awkward when I try to hold it. My worry is that she'll put on a face of disgust or ask me what I'm looking at.

TLDR; I always fear the worst when I initiate eye contact with a passing stranger, how to fix?
