The fact that you've been texting for months with zero in person time, coupled with her ease at saying she loves you (ie.. kinda how girls that are bffs always tell eachother they love eachother) suggests that you're already friendzoned. Shouldn't be spending time continuing down this road.

i get where you're coming from and if any other situation it would make sense but can you explain how zero time in person correlates to friendzoned? because as i said we live thousands of miles away from each other so we can't exactly meet up regularly, i think the fact she's spending hours everyday texting me is a positive sign considering we haven't spoken to each other for more than 10 mins in person.
The "i love you" thing is also weird because how many girls say i love you to their guy friends, im just curious, im open to any more info from past experience, thanks!

Because it's actually impossible to escalate and build attraction unless you are spending time together face to face.

Stop talking right of your ass bud, it is VERY possible to build attraction. I've been in the same place as OP and my GF ( now ex ) was dying to be in a relationship with me through the internet. I built attraction by not being needy, by not texting as much, also, I kept Hobby's and interest like performing in concerts and made sure she saw my stories of that
I was also super bold and even had her sext me indirectly many times.
For OP, just go for it man. Ask her out, if you get rejected, then you can continue being her friend or leave
