So I would describe myself as "middle of the road" in damn near everything but humor/personality. I'm middle aged (old by this subreddit's standards), in mediocre shape and not rich. I went out tonight and was having a lot of fun playing darts with a group of friends. 2 of them are relatively new to me/us but pretty cool over all, and there's two of them and two of us (me and my friend) and 3-4 girls around that are worth interest. Like I said, I'm not built, I'm totally average, but one of the other guys is definitely a lifter. Not overboard but obvious. and it's clear he's used to being the alpha. I went toe to toe on the dart playing/alpha behaviour, and at one point he more or less bowed up a little. He didn't come from an insecure place but he was clearly testing me to gauge my response.

This is why I'm making this post, and if I'm off base y'all downvote this to hell, no worries.

When he bowed up I said, loud enough for 4-5 folks within earshot (girl/guy mix) to hear:

"You're too classy for that."

He visibly deflated. I didn't rub it in because 1) it was my shot and 2) honestly it's classier not to gloat. I actually validated him though, because I said something along the lines of "Hey though, that was a hell of a round! a double 18, a double 16 and a bullseye?!" That isn't what he threw or what I said, but I validated him to some degree after "stumping" him and that essentially handicuffed his mojo. At least momentarily.

Now I came home alone tonight by choice. I was sort of tempted to sling some game at a couple of different girls but I was on more of a 'guys night' mode tonight so I focused elsewhere. That being said I am not anything resembling an accomplished member of this sub, but I do ok. I guess I'm just saying your results may vary...
