A little twist beyond the typical how to make plans discussion:

It’s been a popular topic around here re: how to make plans with a girl to prevent flakes etc. There are certainly some different opinions but the popular stance is, take the initiative as the guy, minimal idle chit chat post between dates, ask her out with a set plan (place, time, date), and meet up.

How should this evolve as you’re getting past your first several dates? I’m at a spot now where we’re at the 4th/5th date, and I’d prefer if I didn’t have to think of everything we’re doing together. Is there a balance of taking the lead as a man, versus getting her to share some of that responsibility as well. In the past girls have begun to ask me out and make suggestions on their own, but this hasn’t happened yet.

In my specific situation, I’ve (31 M) been seeing this girl for a couple weeks now. We’ve met up every week or every other week, after I had asked her out with plans. Interest has been there, we’ve done the deed at the end of every date. She’s budged in some ways like adding me on social media after the last date. I feel like there’s still the expectation of me initiating convos/dates, which can grow tiresome.

What’s the move at this point. Is there a way to have her share some responsibility, while still leading the interaction?

As well, with regards to advice of keeping texting only to make plans, shouldn’t this evolve as well. I feel like eventually you should naturally have a bit more conversation with someone you’ve been seeing and fucking apart from just to make plans.
