It's really all about context, and (potentially) the frequency with which you go out of your way for women. If you're always holding doors for women AND carrying yourself with a wimpy attitude all the time, you'll be perseved as a wimp. It'll be viewed as, "He's not doing that because he wants to do it. He's doing it because he feels it's expected of him."

From my experience, the best approach is to always hold doors, open car doors, etc., but treat women in conversation like they aren't any different from guys. I'm never afraid to disagree with them and I always keep cool and confident. This combination sends the idea of legitimate chivalry and not spineless. Good luck, bro.

Edit: Hold off on buying gifts as much as possible, too. Atleast in the early stages. And nothing too extravagent. Whenever I was in a relationship, I was described by the women I had dated is being a great gift-giver, but that was never reciprocated.

Open the door if your there and remember. Don't try to rush ahead so you can open it for them. Also if your in front of them go in first. Basically do it when it will naturally look as if your not thinking about it.
