I’m attending university about 130 miles from home and last weekend, when I was visiting home, I matched with one of my high school classmates on tinder. Her profile says shes not looking for anything serious and I’m pretty much in the the same boat but I wanted a second perspective on my current situation.

So obviously I am not trying to drive back home this weekend but in three weeks I have spring break and am thinking of just messaging her during my break. Since we know each other but have never talked before, I was thinking of just messaging her something like “Hey _____, we should grab some drinks this weekend and catch up” but I’m wondering if that’s too forward. Should I make small talk first? Start conversation now? I am not trying to go out of my way to pursue this but I’d like to make the most out of this opportunity. Also note that I haven’t said anything to her on Tinder yet.
