I'm a newbie. Ok thats out of the way, don't expect anything mind blowing but this is just a mini FR showing the importance of outcome independence and having a genuine intent.
I went in a local college town coffee shop. 4 girls sitting in the corner chatting. I can see 3 faces and 1 with her back turned to me. The faces I saw looked like they were in college, but they weren't that attractive. The girl with her back turned seem to have a nice body, blonde. After I got my tea, I immediately b-lined toward them. Grabbed a chair from the table next to them, set it down between the blonde another girl, and just said "Hi... who are you guys?"... "you guys seem to be having a really fun convo"... etc etc.
As I was talking to them, I realize the blonde that I was interested in is MUCH younger than I first suspected. Oh, icing on the cake, there was another lady with them, and she turned out to be the younger one's mother. The two other ones were in college but not that attractive. Early on, I found out that they were freshmen, and the other two girls were their younger sisters celebrating their birthday.
Anyways, I continued to chat with them anyways, they were definitely giggling and laughing the whole time. I just practiced having a fun conversation, and even the mother seem to be enjoying a random guy hitting up her daughters lol. My intent was to have a fun conversation and get to know a little about these girls knowing that I was NOT going to get their number, and that the girls were VERY plain looking, but nice.
I left them after about 10 minutes and wished the girl happy birthday. I went to sit at a different part of the shop (its a small coffeeshop/bookstore type thing). Then about 10 minutes later, the 4 girls walked up to me, and asked for my name, and thanked me for talking to them. I didn't ask for any of their number since I wasn't attracted to them. So I didn't close anything, but I think the mentality that I had when chatting them is the one I need to with any girl. I enjoyed the conversation while having absolutely NO outcome-oriented goal, provided value, and made someone else's day. Why can't it always be like this...
TLDR: approach group, girl was too young, mother was there. free from outcome. provide value. made someone's day.
there doesn't seem to be anything here
