This isn't a rant, it's a declaration - my situation is pretty similar to you as well so I definitely feel where you're coming from. Be sure to revisit this post from time to time if you're ever feeling discouraged and feel free to shoot me a msg if you need support.

My advice is similar to what sneezen said. Since you have no experience going out on the streets and killing it, you will have to practise your social skills first of all. I've taught this thing live to several people and it was better to drill one major thing every week. For example for a more advanced guy, it was doing prep-work for kissing ladies on the street one week and practising vulnerability in another.
I wrote all the major drills I've done over the year that actually work and could send you some stuff and talk them over every week , as long as you're serious, consistent with them and will update us on your progress. It's important to do progress checks on a monthly basis.
I went through a long experimental phase where I would compare one technique over the other in terms of results. My mistake was that I had to try anything, even if I knew it would be wrong, just to convince myself of that on my own. So, whilst I used a lot of drills (challenges) over the year, I've cut most of them from my arsenal.
EDIT: Some grammar mistakes and whatnot.

my situation is rather similar, as are my resolutions. The only thing that changes for me is from get a new job to get a job ( the living with my parents thing is going to stick for awhile as im still in highschool.)
as for your hobbies I could happily recommend a few.
Skiing/Snowboarding, unfortunately on the expensive side to begin with but skiers and snowboarders are a really great bunch of people and are all generally very sociable. be it on the lift in the chalet. also if you decide to start and not stop, investing in a pair cheap or used pair of skis and a seasons pass will completely stop the cash flow out of your wallet towards this hobby

this will not work. start small. one small improvement every few weeks. start with going to the gym/listen to a new album a week...if you try to change so much in such a short time it will probably result in falling back to your old habits...

I've done volunteer work myself and I have to say it is a great way to meet people. I do a lot of salsa as well and I can also verify that dancing is a great way to meet people. Taking up a martial art is cool as well.
If your goal is to increase your social circle then really you need to do these kinds of things as opposed to replacing online media with different media such as music/movies and whatever. Doesn't mean you shouldn't do it. Just wanted to point that out.
To that end, I don't think you need to give up reddit unless it's actually a serious addiction that cant get away from. It's just not the central action that changes everything like getting out of the house will. Just go out dancing and volunteering and you'll spend the time away from the computer that you need to. :)
Good luck!
