As for the last few weeks I've found a great way to actually increase your self confidence which I've found really helpful because it's fairly logical and easy to understand and apply.

It begins with realising your strengths. What are those things you really shine at? At first you just think about your hobbies probably and stuff you like to do, but this is a much broader subject. I'm talking here about things such as the ability to be able to place things into a different perspective, to be able to understand other people, be fun to hang around with etc. So as you see you may have a lot of these attributes, which all make you, you.

To put this into practice you need to understand that you are good enough as you are. We all have these positive qualities, but sometimes we don't realise this. To list a few: able, eager, kind, rational, accepting, easy-going, learning, realistic, accurate, effecient, reasonable, adaptable, empathic, and the list goes on and on. Pick a few you have or even better, ask a close friend!

Now look at all the years school you've gone through, the study you've perhaps done, the sport you're good at, the instrument you play really good. Realise how much time this costed you, how you've invested it and what it's made you. I believe there's no one in the world who has ALL of your positive attributes, but is better at all of them. Also this makes you unique, this is why people want to hang out with you and invest their precious time.

So to wrap it up, we all are good enough, but can improve. Improvement is not a bad thing, it's even good to strife for, but also understand that what you are is good enough and that positive qualities are a lot more than just being a really good football player for example, and that these qualities also have had a lot of time to be developed to the current stage they're at.

So this is just my view or 'method', let me know what you think!

Also, I hope this helped some of you, if you have any questions or want me to elaborate something better please ask me!

EDIT:

I've found this table with qualities to give you a better idea of what I'm talking about. http://www.sacredheartboise.com/graphics/staff/jwokersien/PositiveAttributesDirections.pdf
