Just a heads up, this may be a long one so bear with me. (On a throwaway account as well) So to start things off, I’m a 20 year old male, and I’m the only virgin left in my friend group. I had my first kiss at 18, with a girl that I never met, who only kissed me because a coworker told her I had never kissed anyone. It was such a small peck that it didn’t even feel like anything, so I really don’t even count it. That’s all the experience I’ve had with girls. I’ve come to accept that being a virgin isn’t the worst thing, but I’d still like to make progress towards losing that “lable” as it does still bug me a bit. I’m in decent shape, although I’ll admit I’m on the scrawny side (6 foot, 135 pounds.) I have a decent social life. I skateboard, play guitar, bike ride, have a job, go to school, and go to the gym, but I still just can’t seem to make connections with girls. I’ve always been more on the quiet side socially, at least until I open up to people which can take awhile depending on their personality. Starting my job at a bar at 16 helped a lot, but I’m still not quite there yet. Around the start of the fall last year, I went into a pretty big depression. I think it was due to loneliness. Social anxiety played a big part in being lonely. I have OCD and always tend to hyperfocus on any awkward thing I do, which makes it really hard to approach people, especially when there’s attraction involved. I’ve never had a girlfriend, but I’ve been hoping to find one since age 12. Year after year I would tell myself “It’ll happen this year.” And then next thing I knew, December would come and go and nothing had changed. This has been going on for 8 years now. As you can imagine, this ate away at me. I began doing literally nothing for the following 3 months, aside from sitting at home playing video games, smoking weed in the house (which made my parents come close to kicking me out) and blowing off schoolwork. I didn’t even have the motivation to get out of bed before 1pm to make myself breakfast. I failed 2 classes out of the 5 I was taking that semester. Since then, however, I’ve improved a lot. I repaired my relationship with my parents, passed all my classes this semester, and started going to the gym in September. Around January I really committed to the gym and started going 3-4 times a week, and now I go every day. I’ve also been working more on my social skills to hopefully overcome the barrier with girls, but sadly there doesn’t seem to be much opportunity for me. All of my friends are older than me and go out to bars so I can’t tag along. I only have one female friend, who is 26 and doesn’t have any other friends my age. Other friends aren’t an option either, because the 26 year old is also pretty much their only female friend. None of us go to house parties, nor do we have the connections to. I can’t really approach girls at work either because working in a fast paced bar doesn’t exactly yield me the time to flirt. I guess I just need advice on where to meet more people my age. I’ve tried Tinder and other dating sites. I get matches with some really good looking girls, but I’ve come to accept that the online thing isn’t for me. I’m just not good at flirting over text. I’d really like to at least lose my virginity by the end of the summer, because I feel like the mental block of it is still slightly holding me back. I want to find a girlfriend, but I also feel ready to lose my virginity and don’t want to wait around to be dating someone for that to happen.

TLDR: Went into a huge depression from loneliness and because of my own actions. Improved myself over time, but I’m still not where I would like to be. Any advice would be appreciated.
