I work as a straight commission salesman so the the principles used in Venusian Arts very well into professional sales skills. Indeed, often times they have a syngeristc effect. Things like frame control, confidence, good eye contact, good bodily hygine and nice clothes, as well as a quick and humorous wit, conversational and storytelling ability, are some of the same traits; and, most importantly, FEARLESSNESS in closing the deal and 'asking for the business', be it monetary or romantic.

When i first read the Game i was immediately reminded of Influence: The Science of Persuasion and I've since learned that Strauss is also a fan of that book.

Social proof is extremely useful in raising capital. Ideally you have name-brand investors who in turn will attract other investors. And/or you should have people on your team who are known as experts in their field.

This is top of mine for me right now because I'm raising money for a venture that's outside my domain expertise. Ergo I'm very focused on recruiting well-known advisors who compensate for my (perceived) areas of weakness.

I work in sales (nothing high flying), and although I'm decent at it, I just can't work seduction stuff into it. Obviously there's the basic social skills, which I can do, but seduction is based off of abundance. When you're talking to potential customers you have to please everyone, you can't be polarizing, you can't completely act yourself, you can't joke like you would in a social situation.

There's other more general networking, people skills and sales stuff I use, but the seduction stuff just doesn't cross over for me, and it's annoying.

I use lots of these things for work or to attain work. I work at a restaurant (Host/ I'm in college) but I have never been jobless for more then 3 days. I'm confident with potential employers. Constant eye contact, light banter and well since it's a job, absolute professionalism. I ask questions during an interview and make sure its a conversation not just me sitting there quitely as he asks questions.

I work at a pretty upscale restaurant in the heart of downtown. Alot of the clientele can be VIP (former bball players, musicians etc.) And I've learned to accommodate them seduction plays a role. Sometimes we go on a wait, for the rich this is ofcoarse unheard of. I've noticed light banter, flirting( with women) and then telling them exactly what they're gonna do (wait they assess) always works.

Also lots of attractive women come in. I've learned how to judge whether a girl is into me through non-verbal communication or whether she's into her date or just into the cash. Again all non-verbal cues.

Gentleman what I've learned though is basics are key. If your a noob, don't concentrate on strategies and all that just yet. I see men out there sarging and trying crazy things but they don't even know how to hold eye contact or kino or smile or walk confidently. I first learned all this through successful job interviews and working. Then I noticed... wait seduction uses similar principles? And here I am.

I always got the feeling that the online seduction places were trying to use "game" on me to sell me their courses. Even some of you here. How much of your attitude is learned, and how much is your true self?
